Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 26 year old female. I have bed. Having heart flutters once a day or every other day for over a year now. When I vomit, whether I m ill or food poisoning or any reason, I pass out. I pass out before I vomit and wake up I. It very confused for a couple seconds. I have been to the er 3 times Bc my heart races and beats irregularly when I vomit. I can not control it and it scares me to death. I have had tests and blood work done. I do get an accelerated heart rate when this happens. Recently I have been having pains in my left color bone area. I have had a few sharp pains in my chest that remind me of a shock. Leaves as quick as it came. I can not get any answers. Everything comes back normal. Most recently I am getting bouts of nausea. I would like to know if I should see another cardiologist for a second opinion or if I should see someone else!
Hi welcome to HCM. your symptoms point to underlying arrythmias. These manifest in the form of the form of palpitations associated with Gastrointestinal disturbances like nausea and vomiting.I advice you to have a baseline EKG and a 24 hour holter EKG which can accurately assess the nature of rhythm disturbances.Drugs like beta blockers and anxiolytics can help to control the abnormal rhythm patter.Radiofrequency ablation can offer permanent cure.Consult your doctor for further care.
