5 year old daughter is normally very healthy. She had a headache at school today and was tiried. The headache went away. Temp was 100+ and rapid heartbeat--140 after vomiting two times. Wife brought her to ER as it is after hours for doctor office. Is the HR normal for a 5 year old with the fever and vomitng. She has no other complaints--just tired and hot.
Hi, Welcome to HCM. I have read your question in detail and I know that you are very concerned about your child but don't worry. By what you quote it seems that your child probably has got acute gastroenteritis or food poisoning. Increased heart rate is due to fever. Once fever comes down, heart beat will become normal. I hope this will help you. Wishing your child good health. Take care.
