Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Heartbeat Rate High All The Day, Arm Tingling And Mouth Dry?
I have had an elevated heart rate of 100 - 120 all day. At one point, my heart rate reached 139 and I had severe shaking/trembling. Now it feels as if my heart is fluttering. My right arm is tingling and my mouth is very dry. I am quite concerned.
This problem is medically termed as palpitations. Palpitations are feelings or sensations that your heart is pounding or racing. They can be felt in your chest, throat, or neck. You may have an unpleasant awareness of your own heartbeat and feel like your heart skipped or stopped beats. High heart rate is called as tachycrdia.
I would recommend you base line cardiac tests like holter monitoring, 2d echo and tread mill test to rule out the cause of tachycardia. There are a number of cases of tachycardia and palpitations. Usually, palpitations are either related to your heart or the cause is unknown. Non-heart-related causes include strong emotions like anxiety, fear, or stress. They often happen during panic attacks.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Rishu Saxena
