What Causes Heavy And Prolonged Vaginal Bleeding While On A Contraceptive?

hi, i have been bleeding for 7 weeks now. the first 3 weeks wasnt heavy, started bleeding heavy after 3rd week.blood work, sono, biopsy and pap smear came back normal. doctor said it pre menopauze symptoms. im on my 11th day birth control [ VIENVA] and still bleeding heavy. chunks of cloths. can it be something else and what can i do to stop bleeding. it is very annoying. have to change pads like every 2 hours. Thank You

Hi,

It is a matter of concern this heavy bleeding. I think your doctor should give you norethisterone. You should check total blood count and platelets count. Also check if you are taking any blood thinning medication.

If you are near menopause you can use hormone replacement therapy.
