I took plan B last month experienced heavy bleeding for 4-5 days a week after taking the pill. I had just had my period not to long before that maybe 1-2 weeks before. Was that my period for the month? Will plan b mess up my period? I have taken several pregnancy tests and it has been a month since unprotected sex. All tests were negative. Are they accurate? I have also been under alot of stress.
Plan B pills usually contain some progestational medicine. Hence, Plan B pills have following after effects:
1. Few days later there is some amount of bleeding for a couple of days. However, this bleeding is not heavy and stops within a few days.
2. The following period after Plan B pills may be delayed by few days to a week or so. You need not be panicky for such delay.
There was no necessity of performing so many pregnancy tests at this stage. These rests if done too early may provide false negative results even in presence of pregnancy.
Now please wait for your periods to appear; which may be few days late. They will appear as Plan B pills are fairly effective in preventing the pregnancy.
If your menses are delayed for more than 10 days, then you may perform pregnancy test on overnight first early morning urine; earlier these tests may report false negative.
I hope this helps you.
