What Causes Heavy Menstrual Bleeding After Taking Loette Pills?
Have just starting taking loette pill for first time for contraceptive. My period usually only lasts for 5 days and it s been 8 days now. Wondering when bleeding going to stop.I have never had problems on pill before. And have taken monofeme in the past. Loette is a lower dose of hormones which I thought would be better...should I stay on it or change to monofeme?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Loette is a combined hormonal contraceptive pill. It contains Ethinyl Estradiol and Levonorgestrel. Menstrual disturbances in the form of heavy bleeding or spotting between the periods are some of the common side effects experienced when these pills are consumed for the first time. Such symptoms should stablize and normalize in about 3 to 6 months time. In case these symptoms persist and you experience fresh symptoms of side effects like vision disturbances, mood swings, altered sex drive or libido, rash, urticaria, vaginal yeast infections, allergy, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, bloating, weight changes, headaches and breast congestion, you need to consult your doctor immediately for review using this contraceptive pills and switch over to other modes of contraception which would suit you. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
