What Causes Heavy Periods And Blood Clots?

Hi I had a biopsy done last September and everything went well I had light periods and fewer days.But the last 2 weeks it have been very heavy periods and big blood clots and I was wondering what can I do or should I go back to my doctor and ask her why is doing that
