What Causes Heavy Periods Post A Tubal Ligation Surgery?
hello my name is Jennifer and I am 35. When I was 18 I had a bad miscarriage that led to a lot of blood loss. I was diagnosed anemic at that point and placed on iron pills. In 2006 after the live birth of my second child I had a tubal ligation preformed. Since that procedure I have had very heavy menstral flows with severe pain. I even have braxton hicks during most of these heavy flows. In the last week I have noticed at least 20 new bruises. Each morning I wake up with more. What could cause this? I am 5 2 and I weigh about 119-122 lbs.
Hello, Thanks for sharing your health concern with us. I have gone through your query and would like to offer some suggestions. Tubal ligation has been shown to result in abnormal menstrual pattern, though the exact cause is unknown. Since you are experiencing excessive bruising, I would ask you to get a complete clinical evaluation along with coagulation profile. It remains to be seen if the platelets are reduced. Further management can be planned accordingly. Hope this helps.
