after a gap of 4 months i got normal periods,but after one month it started heavily with large clots .when that continued for about 10 days i consulted a doctor who prescribed Trapic-E and if not controlled then to start Regestrone 5,2 tabs BD for 20 days. After discontinuation of Trapic-E it again started heavily. Now should i start Regestrone-5 ? I am 48 yrs. old.
Firstly the cause of irregular periods such as polycystic ovaries,obesity and hypothyroidism should be identified and treated effectively.Treating only the symptoms without treating the cause cannot provide a long term solution.
Ultrasound pelvis,FSH LH hormone ratio ,thyroid profile and blood sugar level , body mass index is essential to identify the cause of irregular periods. Hormonal imbalance is the main cause of delayed or irregular or scanty menstrual bleeding.
