What Causes Heavy Vaginal Bleeding After Delivery?
I had my second baby 3 months ago - bleeding lasted at least 8 weeks - it always seemed to be stopping but would start again. I had a few days with no bleeding, but now I have very dark (almost black) blood. I don t have a fever, could this be an infection (or placental remnants)?
Hello! Normally bleeding after giving birth should not last 8 weeks. I would really want to know how heavy it was. Anyway, the dark blood you have now means that the amound of blood is low. If I were your doctor I should recommend you a visit to control the uterus and the situation of your cervix if you have had a normal labour. Take care and do a blood test if you have anemia (to control if you have too much blood loss). Dr. Thano
