What Causes Heavy Vaginal Bleeding After Taking Mtp Kit?

hello doctor, my girlfriend is 19 years old, me and my girlfriend had unprotected on 29 june and having sex she took an unwanted 72 pill her next period date was 6 july but she don t get her periods after that we took a pregnancy test 20 july (with the help of prega news) and the test comes positive . after that we buy the unwanted mtp kit (of mankind company) and took the first dose with empty stomach and other two tablets after 24 hrs and next two tablets after 8 hrs. After taking these tablet her bleeding gets start but now the bleeding is not stopping sometimes its flow varies . now days in bleeding mostly contain gel like something is there with mixture of blood. so please can u tell when bleeding will get stopped.

Hello,
Bleeding is normal after the medical termination of pregnancy using pregnancy kits available and some cases experience more than usual bleeding. Generally bleeding occurs due to shedding of uterus inner layer where the fetus is developing and along with bleeding the developing fetus gets unlodged and abortion occurs. As I could see that you took pregnancy test on 20th July, so it's over 1 month since you took the tablets and still bleeding at this time is unusual and suggests incomplete abortion with retained product of conception inside the uterus. You should consult a Gynecologist so that they can examine her and advice her ultrasonography in order to see the condition of uterus and products of conception and further manage accordingly.
