What Causes High Blood Pressure After Double Mastectomy Reconstructive Surgery?

Hello, I had a double mastectomy reconstructive surgery mid July. my blood pressure has been on the higher side ever since like like 137/82, other days 137/92. prior surgery I was normal. Can you please advise if and when I should be concerned? thank you

Dear Mrs,

Sometimes there are hormonal changes after such surgeries, which lead increase of blood pressure.
Your blood pressure is not that high to be concerned. I would advise you to continue monitoring blood pressure for a month, meanwhile try to cut salt in your diet, lose weight if you are overweight and exercise regularly. If your blood pressure exceeds 140/90 after a month, I would advise you to see your doctor.
