Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes High Blood Pressure After Taking Methylcobalamin And Bevon?
I ve recently been diagnosed with anaemic vitamin B12 deficiency (63 pg/mL), and it s been about over a month of medication on Methylcobalamin and Bevon, and ever since I ve had constant higher than normal blood pressure of around 142 mmHg systolic and 85 mmHg diastolic. Is this going to get any better?
Hello there, Thank you for your question. The increase in BP is not because of the B complex supplements (Bevon and Methylcobalamin). Although you may have noticed it at the same time you started the medicines but there is no clinical evidence that B complex or Methylcobalamin causes increase in blood pressure. I would suggest reduce salt in your diet and include exercise as a part of your routine. This will help you to reduce your blood pressure. Keep track of your BP and if it is still higher inspite of diet and exercise you may need therapy for the same. Do continue your B complex and methylcobalamin. Hope this helps. Take care.
