What Causes High Blood Pressure After Taking An Injection Of Hyaluronic Acid?

After an injection of hyaluronic acid into my knee I ended up in emerg 3 days later with very high blood pressure. Although my BP has danced around 130/90 for years, it has been that or less. Suddenly I felt awful. In taking my BP it was 168/120 - I just about fainted - in both sense of the word. I ve been treated, although the first med gave me a cough, I have a second. I haven t taken it yet because my readings have been good. Do you think it is a result of the injection or just coincidence. Thanx.

I suggest you to get an ECG,2 D Echo of your heart,lipid profile,complete blood picture,chest x ray to rule out any underlying heart pathology as hyaluronic acid injection may not cause these symptoms.Side effects of hyaluronic acid inj include nausea,vomiting,pain,dizziness.Monitor your blood pressure regularly.You may need to increase your dose of anti hypertensive.Also you may need to start taking atorvastatin 5mg by discussing with your cardiologist.Restrict your salt intake to Post your further queries if any,
