What Causes High Blood Pressure And Rapid Heart Rate After Using 10mg Percocet?

I am given 3 10mg percocet daily. Usually feel fine but every now and then a dose will make me feel a bit off and my blood pressure goes from my normal 88/58 to about 117 or 120/ 68 and my heart rate goes up about 10 pts. is this normal? Btw this feeling last about 20 min after the pill begins to take effect.

hello,
i can understand your concern.
i would like to know about the cause for which the medication has been advised.
perocet contains acetaminophen and oxycodone.
oxycodone is an opiod painkiller.
this does have effects like tachycardia(increased heart rate),dizziness, nausea, constipation among others.
an increase of rate of 10 is not significant if it is somewhere around 100.
the blood pressure you have mentioned is also well within the normal parameters.
do not worry. you can continue the medication as advised by your doctor.
hope i have answered your concerns.
feel free to ask further queries.
thanks for choosing HCM
