What Causes High Blood Pressure While Suffering From Myasthenia Gravis?

My husband is experiencing high blood pressure today as he has off and on over the last few days. 185 over 55. The heart rate is varying 5 - 10 points, like 55 to 64. His was in afib for 3 wks. and his heart was shocked about 10 days ago, resulting in this heart rate. At the time his bp was too low, like 112 over 38. Dr. stopped metropolol. He is taking losartin with a small amt. of diuretic, amiodorone, and lasix (when necessary, 20 mg.) He is having no pain or unusual weakness or symptoms. He is 76 and has myasthenia gravis. Should we be overly concerned?

Hello,
Yes, it is appropriate to be concerned. One complication of atrial fibrillation is a fast heart rate. He should see a doctor as soon as possible for an evaluation.
