What Causes High Blood Pressure With Trembling Of Legs?
My father s BP has suddenly shot up with his legs trembling and head reeling. He has had BP since the last 35 years and we initially doubted that he might be having some heart disease. How long does it take for the trembling of legs to go as he is quite concerned and stressed.
Hi welcome to HCM. Elevated blood pressure can largely contribute to symptoms of head reeling and leg trembling. Its extremely important to rule out the associated organic heart disease through a baseline ecg and 2 dimensional echo. In all cases the blood pressure has to be treated through escalation of antihypertensive drug doses. Restrict the intake of salt to less than 6 gm/day. Maintain your blood pressure under 130/80 mm of Hg. It take approximately 2-3 days for the trembling to settle down in legs. Maintain good body stores of potassium. Check your blood pressure twice weekly. Regular physical exercise for 20 min/day will help. Consult your cardiologist for further assistance. Thank you.
