welcome to hcm,
INSPITE OF taking diabetic medications and having a walk for 6 km and without diet restrictions nothing is going to help first. so have your diet regulation, timely meals.
the next thing is youi have to understand that many of your diabetic medications are acting on the pancreatic beta cells to release insulin. when these medications are taken for a long time eventulally the beta cells get damaged and if there are no adequate pancreatic beta cells to produce insulin, we have to supplement insulin at last.
i usually say to my patient if you think your diabetic medications are bulb, the insulin is the current. when light is not glowing and we are changing the bulbs, it will work only when the current is there, there will be no use of changing the bulb if current is not there. like wise your medications will work untill you have insulin secreation when your beta cells get damaged your medications will not work.
you have to discuss it with your treating physician for insulin regimen. if needed
thank you for your query,
hope i have explained your query.
