What Causes High Fasting Blood Sugar Sugar Levels?
My 12 year old daughter had a fasting blood sugar of 102 but the doctor said that it wasn't anything to worry about and that she would check again next year. My daughter was very nervous when she was getting her blood drawn, could this be why her blood sugar level was higher than normal?

102 is obviously on the higher side..But the normal fasting blood sugar value is till 110.more than 125 is diabetic range.Hence here it is in normal .Only with one value we can't jump into a diagnosis.Its ideal to repeat the fasting values and to do HbA1C(which tells us the average blood sugar 3months).
HbA1C is helpful to know the situation more precisely...
