What Causes High Pitch Deafness With Ringing In Ear?
I have had c spine problems for a few years. 58 y/o. Last Dec. I started having pain in shoulders and spasms in upper back. At the same time my left ear started ringing. I saw a ENT that said I had some high pitch deafness. The ringing has gotten worse this year, and now has begun ringing some in the right ear. I always had excellent hearing. Why would this all happen at the same time? Could it be coming form my degenerative arthritis in my nec?. I also have 2 bone spurs with narrowing in the c spine.

in your case, ringing in ear can be early sign of neural deafness as there is already high pitch deafness.
so examination should be done to find out any pteventable cause.e.g nerve damage by vasuclar cause or by some surroundinng structure that compress it.
some time ringing in the ear can be the part of certain syndromes also.
