What Causes High Platelet Count In Blood Test?

My platelet count is in the 700,000 range. My doctor can t seem to find the reason for it as it keeps going up with every blood test. I would like to know what I can do to bring it down My doctor doesn t advise me to donate blood as it wouldn t solve my problem.

I have gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.

Your platelets count is 7 lakh/ cumm. It is slightly high. It can be due to reactive thrombocytosis or essential thrombocythemia.

If it remains persistent high or if it increased further then you need further investigation like bone marrow examination and jak 2 mutation study to rule out essential thrombocythemia.
