Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I live in North West Wyoming. I recently (about 3 weeks ago) began having severe left hip joint pain. I had an MRI which showed a fluid buildup. The fluid was drained and i was given a shot of cortosone in my hip. The pain was relieved for a few days, but returned although not as severe. However, the joint pain has now affected my Right Shoulder, Left Shoulder and my Right Hip. I rate the original location of the pain in the Left Hip as an 7 out 10, especially bad in the morning and late at night. I rate the pain in the Right Shoulder, Left Shoulder and my Right Hip as an 5 or 6 out 10, especially bad in the morning and late at night. When the pain first started, i had a 100 degree fever for 3 days. Then the fever went away. I do however take Aleve two times a day. Do you think that this could be lymes disease? thank you chuck bohmer
Joint pains usually followed by fever are suggestive of Reactivity arthritis, you will need a short course of steroid orally also, the best doctor to consult would be a Rheumatologist.
