What Causes Hole In The Eye?

my fiance went to an opt. today because his eye has been stinging and the muscle behind it has been very sore. it is very light sensitive and red. The doctor told him that he has a hole in his eye then numbed it and put a contact in it to help it heal . Shouldnt something more serious be done? what exactly is a hole in the eye?

every thing done is worong. hole can not be diagnosed by optometrist. contact lens is not treatment for it. get your self checked by ophthamologist for all your problem. refraction may be done. medication advised by doctor should be taken.
