What Causes Hollow Feeling In The Sinus After Caldwell Luc Procedure?
hello, 2 years ago I had a Caldwell Luc procedure to remove a tooth root from my sinus. My face is still a little numb but I can live with that. I m worried because If I tap above where the opening would have been for the operation to the side of my nose, my sinus sounds hollow whereas the other side is fine. (other people can hear the difference too) If I push in the area my sight goes funny also. Is there likely to be a problem here that I should get a doctor to look into? Thank you!
HI. This is a rare presentation of the upper bony plate towards the eye has got weak due to osteomyelitis or so. That is why you are getting your sight going into funny on pressure. The hollowness of the sinus can be due to the disease of the maxillary sinus and needs a CT SCAN of the sinuses , nose and face. This will prove the diagnosis as to whether there is osteoyelitis. Once the diagnosis is made you have to get a treatment- medical to get the disease under control. If required you may have to another surgery from an ENT surgeon. Al the best for diagnosis and proper treatment .
