Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 66 yr old female. I am having alternating hot and cold sweats. I ve had both high and low thyroid problems in the past but not for 12 ys. Had complete hysterectomy in 1999. Going from hot sweats to cold swats every 10 to a5 minutes for 2 hours.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Your thyroid controls every metabolic function in your body, so it can cause either hot flashes, or it can cause you to be cold all the time, or both. I suggest you to do a thyroid hormone level to maintain it under control and get proper treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
