Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter's ten and a half and keeps complaining she feels ill. It's been going on for 5 weeks now, she's had urine and blood test which seem to show nothing. She says she feels sick, hot and dizzy although she doesn't seem to have a temperature. She went for three weeks without hardly eating and has lost weight. She's now frightened to tell me when she's feeling ill as she thinks I won't believe her and she also says the same about her teacher. She's generally a happy child living in a happy home inviroment with mum, dad, sister and brother, she has lots of friends, is popular and has always loved school. I'm at the end of my tether as I don't know what to say to her or what to do anymore! Please help!!! :(
Hi.. Considering the above behavior I think it can be because of anemia in which fatigue, tiredness may occur. Another possibility is that it can be due to hormonal changes occurring at this age. These type of behavior may occur during the beginning of adolescence. Another important thing that needs to be taken into consideration is that is the child disturbed due to the surrounding environment. Has something unusual happened that is disturbing the child. I think parents and teachers both need to be compassionate to the child so that she can feel free to speak about her problems.
