Hello and welcome to HCM,
I am Dr Nilajkumar a consultant gynecologist and I will be helping you in your queries.
I understand the situation and also that you are in pain and fever.
You have not mentioned the unit of the white cell count as 3.4 does not provide any information without a unit. I would be tahnkful if you could inform if it is 3.4 per cu mm or cells per ml or what.
However if your doctor says that it is raised, it must be. A high count indicates an infection. It may be infection of the wound, most common, breast infection [ also common] or any other infection in the body.

In our setup as I am in a tropical country we run other tests like malaria, and dengue as these are common in our region. A wound swab if there is wound discharge, cervical and vaginal swab as well as urine culture are also needed to determine source of infection. We use broad spectrum antibiotics initially and switch to specific ones after results.

Other measures include antipyretic [ acetaminophene] tablets to control fever. The burning in throat may indicate a throat infection or acidity. Warm saline gargles, hot soups are also helpful.

With these you will recover in a few days. Do not worry. See a doctor and start medicines.

Hope this was helpful.
Feel free to ask any further queries and I will be happy to help.
Thanks for using HCM.
Have a good day.
