What Causes Hyperthyroidism During Pregnancy?

hi,my wife was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in year 2010 in the middle of her pregnancy....she is taking eltroxin 50 since then,but she is not gaining any weight and mainly she has a very dull face skin with some pigmentation marks..but the main worry is her face looking as sick and dull...i am not sure it is hyper but initially the test tsh was 18,12 then sometimes within normal after medication

Hello sir,I understand your concern.In my opinion it might be hypothyroidism not hyperthyroidism.Eltroxin is prescribed in hypothyroidism.If she is sick and dull I suggest you to see if thyroid is under control or not.Yearly evaluation is necessary always .Also check for any stress if she is facing .And avoid the stress .
