Good afternoon, In my life I have not had the ability to belch, but I feel the urge to at times and they end up being an enternal belch, kind of like a throat belch that doesn t leave. Please can you assist in letting me know what this problem could be and how I could fix it.? Thank you for your time.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history of an urge to pass a belch but unable to pas one. Always feels throat belch that does not leave. Want to know what this could be - how to fix it... The most probably cause of this feeling of belching can be due to the following: Pharyngeal or upper esophageal pouch. GERD Gastritis. Severe and chronic pharyngitis. I would advise you the following in such a situation: Thick Barium swallow test. CT scan of the upper chest and neck Upper GI endoscopy. Tests of blood, urine and stool. These will get the correct diagnosis and a plan for proper treatment.
