Hi , I used to drink 3 pegs daily for past 3 years. two weeks back I got quite high and mixed two three types alohol. After that day I am unable to drink even 1 peg as I get high as if I have drunk 3 pegs. Is it because my liver has got weak or because I am taking b.P. medicine for past 1 month. Amloprest AT and Telko H
Hi... Drinking more than one drink per day is injurious to health. Alcohol is metabolized in the liver with the help of alcohol dehydrogenase enzyme. The amount of tolerance to alcohol varies individually depending on the enzyme and metabolization rate. Drinking 3 pegs per day for 3 years might injure or liver might get cirrhosed in which case metabolization slows down and the amount of alcohol cleared from the body may be slowed. So, I would strictly recommend you to quit alcohol before its too late.
