I m 12 years old but I am developing quickly, in feminine areas. My body looks like that of a 15/16/17 year old. I m 5 3/5 4 and I m scared that I will end up being 6 foot and I find being a tall female unattractive. Are there any alternatives to slow down my height growth? Like how about the myth about drinking coffee?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Pinak De's Response
Hi,
I can understand your concern. This is the principal growth period when the rate of growth is maximum during this time. However with onset of puberty there will be fusion of your bony growth end plates and the rate of elongation will reduce gradually and these are all programmed as genetics play the role. Since you are considering/extrapolating that if you grow at this rate then you will be a six footer which may not be entirely true. Moreover the overall height of an individual depends on the combination of mother's n father's height. So there is not much to be done for reducing the height and if you believe in what most of the people across the globe think that one of the beautiful features of a women is also about her height. So I suppose you needn't worry much about it.
Hope this helped somewhat.
