What Causes Increase In Blood Sugar Level While On Lantus Insulin?
I was taking diamicron and trajenta due to high blood sugar level and it was controlling it. My creatinine level went from 162 to 182 and my doctor said I must stop those drugs and go on insulin. I started it two weeks ago. It is Lantos. Everytime I eat no matter what it is within reason my blood sugar count goes up to 14 to 21 two hours after I eat. Tha Lantos only seems to keep the blood sugar at a level amount through the night. Nothing is controlling my spikes after eating. Can I go back on diamicron and trajenta and stop the insulin.carl

In kidney diseases some diabetes medicines will cause low blood sugar.
You haven't mentioned properly actually your s. Creat levels, I presume it 1.8mg/dl..
1.tragenta can be given even on significant kidney problems because it is not removed by kidney so ask your doctor to restart tragenta tab.
2.Tab.dimicron will be dangerous in higher dosage in kidney disease but instead you can take tab. Glipizide for diabetes along with tragenta.. Tell your doctor about this 2 medicines. We usually give our patients this 2 medicines when they have kidney problems.
3 . please don't take self medications, written prescriptions are necessary and safe.
