What Causes Increased Body Fat After Lumbar Surgery?

I had lumbar surgery on June 24th at L-4, L-5 due to a ruptured disc. I had the same surgery again on November 1st and for some reason I cannot get rid of the belly fat this time. Is it due to the back surgery or recuperation time? I've been walking and eating healthy but it simply will not go down like it did after the first surgery. Thanks.

Dear patient,
Belly fat doesnot come because of surgery, it comes due to rest after surgery. As in your case, this is the second surgery, i am sure the recuperation time as well as restriction on exercises like stomach crunches, push ups and sit ups is longer, which makes the situation worse. Right now, the best thing for you to do is a healthy, balanced, low fat, high protein, high fiber diet and walking as adviced by your doctor. Dont be bogged down by this weight so much, it will only make your journey tougher. So just relax, keep walking, have lots of fruits, salads, soups and proteins. As your back recovers, your weight shall also come down. Get well soon!
