What Causes Increased Bowel Frequency During Periods?

i am 47yrs.during my periods my bowel frequency has increased.sometimes with blood in the stool.after 7th to 8th day of the period everything sets right.just suggest me if this is common & is there anything i can do.this is happenning frm 3 mnths.sometimes i also feel vomiting sensation.
