My resting heart rate is 102. I can feel my heart beating throughout my body. I've been feeling very tired and haven't been moving about much. I was diagnosed with bronchitis about 3 weeks ago and I'm still not feeling better. what do you recommend?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Please provide more details. Infectious, or inflammatory processes such as bronchitis can cause tachycardia in response to both fever and respiratory distress. Nevertheless, provide following details so that I can guide you better:
1. Do you have any medical problems?
2. Are you taking any medications?
3. When did the palpitations start?
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Increased heart rate in bronchitis may be due to hypoxia due to bronchitis or dyspnea lead to increased heart rate. Also, bronchodilators ( beta agonists)used in bronchitis may aggravate the heart rate.
Use tablet possibilities like anxiety neurosis or panic attacks or caffeine intake or cardiac failure etc. Avoid/reduce the beta 2 agonistic bronchodilator, also reduce caffeine intake.
Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Please consult your physician/ cardiologist they will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
