What Causes Increased Urinary Infection And Discomfort?

I am 60 years old....for the past few years my labia have atrophied. With this I have increased urinary discomfort and infections (which seem to stop with strict hygiene, ie washing after urination) What can I do? Worst of all, if I masturbate .even gently for five minutes or less, I seem to get a urinary infection consistantly
