What Causes Indention In The Center Of The Forehead?
Hello. I have a question that I am concerned about. I have an indention in the center of my forehead that has just appeared in less than a years time. It looks like a small crater in certain light with a shadow cast. It is only about the size of your index finger. I have been getting pressure headaches in my forehead area but nothing serious to cause pain. I do have some slight discomfort there. I also suffer from depression. I am wondering if the depression may have caused it. I haven t bumped my head or anything like that. It looks like a bullet wound that has healed. It bothers me.
Thank you for your question on HCM! I understand your concern.
Indentations on the head may be caused by different disorders affecting the scull or the meninges ( brain layers). It may be a tumoral , infection, inflammation or metabolic disorder ( like low plasma Calcium and vitamine D deficiency).
I would recommend you to consult with a neurologist and perform some tests like a routine blood test, calcium and vitamin D plasma levels .
A brain CT scan would be necessary to exclude a frontal meningeoma ( a tumor), which could cause this indentation and depression.
Hope to have been helpful!
Greetings! Dr. Aida
