What Causes Index Finger Numbness, Coldness And Loss Of Sensation?

My 7 year old son fell while holding a glass bottle in his right hand. The glass cracked and cut him on the palm of his hand a little below the v shape between the index finger and the thumb. It was bleeding for a few minutes and looked as if you could see some flesh. We took him to Casualty and they applied glue which did not work. I am now using steri-strips to keep the wound closed. Trouble is, he is saying that his index finger is numb and cold, cannot use his hand to write or much else. I applied pressure and he could not feel it. He is able to bend it but not much. It is already a week since the incident. I would really appreciate your advice. Thank You

Hello
Thanks for posting
Your son need detail physical examination to rule out injury to nerve and tendon supplying the index finger. As this glass injury could be a deep one. You may visit a orthopaedic /hand surgeon for further help.
Hope this helps.
Take care
