Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Index Finger Numbness, Coldness And Loss Of Sensation?
My 7 year old son fell while holding a glass bottle in his right hand. The glass cracked and cut him on the palm of his hand a little below the v shape between the index finger and the thumb. It was bleeding for a few minutes and looked as if you could see some flesh. We took him to Casualty and they applied glue which did not work. I am now using steri-strips to keep the wound closed. Trouble is, he is saying that his index finger is numb and cold, cannot use his hand to write or much else. I applied pressure and he could not feel it. He is able to bend it but not much. It is already a week since the incident. I would really appreciate your advice. Thank You
