What Causes Infant To Have Pubic Hair At 4 Months?
Dear Doctor,My 10 months old baby has pubic hair from last 4 months. we went to manipal hospital in abngalore they conducted tests and told no abnormalities. then I asked what is the reason for pubic hair they told they dont know.Can you please explain what can be reason.Thanks,Sreenath:YYYY@YYYY
There is something called as vellus hair, and some parents do get confused with it and get worried. Vellus hair is present over our body but we seldom notice it. Sometimes they are a little longer. As long as the hair that you are talking about is not growing in size, curling up, becoming darker, or if the child is having axillary hair, all seems normal. But a physical examination is a must, which you are telling has already been done.
I have no idea what all tests you have gone through, but if have said its fine, enjoy the parenthood, as children sense emotions and you might want to give the best ones to your young one. In case any of those things that i have mentioned earlier happens, do contact the Pediatric Endocrinologist.
