What Causes Inflammation Around Surgery Scar On Back?

i had a bolging disc opperated on 5 years ago and hurt my back 3 days ago just bending down to get a gas bottle and my back is sore, yesterday i pu a heat pack on several times and this moring i noticed the old scar sit is read and slightly inflamed, what is it

The scar is quite old and should not be the cause for inflammation now. You seem to have strained the tissue underneath the area of scar. Needs clinical examination to come to a conclusion. So better see your surgeon who operated you to rule out anything that is there.
