Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband had acute abdominal pain, jaundice skin and eyes, elevated bilirubin but no fever, had EMCR put in stent in though did not see gallatone in duct, but indented duct thought probably from gallstones in gallbladder pressing on duct from outside. In surgery which followed to remove gallbladder, dr. Said gallbladder extremely inflamed, lots of scarring too, no stone in duct but some in gallbladder. What else may be causing inflammation, scarring and think he said gallbladder very sticky. Quick path from gallbladder removal surgery was told no cancer.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. The inflamed and scarified gallbladder is usually due to stones within it and that precipitate the infection and repeated infections cause scarring. This infected bile and/or the stones when contact with bile ducts can cause infection, and all the changes. Now since stent has been put in, it will help for a better recovery. MRCP or EUS that is ultrasonographic endoscopy can help to know the diagnosis better and hence should be done to get the exact situation so that a proper management can be done.
Take care. Regards. Dr T Chandrakant.
