statin drug may cause some irritative effects locally that the body has the ability to wall off and there will be not much harm. Some of the portion of the drug will just dissolve and assimilate into the blood stream and will work the same way as if taken through mouth but with a lesser than usual dose.
Precaution:-
Now don't take an extra tablet by mouth. Skip this dose and carry it on on regular basis from the next dose time.
