What Causes Insomnia & Anxiety Post A Knee Replacement?

Hello, I had a total knee replacement on July 8, 2014. I was prescribed oxycodone ( 5 mg) . . 1 - 3 tablets every 4- 6 hours. I am trying to taper off, and have noticed that I have isomnia, am agitated have anxiety. Are these withdrawl symptoms? If so, what should I do? I have been trying to take just 1 ( 5 mg) tablet every 6 hours, but the knee pain, and other symptoms ( above ) are of a concern. What can I do to minimize the tapering off effects? Thank you

Hello..yes these are the withdrawal symptoms of oxycodone. Kindly taper it gradually and stop it. Replace with another form of analgesic only when required, take a pain killer only pain is unbearable since its already 6 months since surgery. If anxiety is of concern get a mild dose anxiolytic drug from your physician. Take care.
