I am wondering about the chest pain that I have been having on and off for the last couple weeks. It is at the top left of my chest and feels like it is in the joint of my left shoulder. I have controlled high blood pressure and am on two different blood pressure meds(one being a low dose) I am 43, female, about 211 pounds. I also am taking cholesterol medicine and buproprion two times a day I think 150 mg each. Thank you
Hi welcome to HCM. Intermittent chest pain in your case can be attributed to high blood pressure and high bodyweight.I advise you to restrict the total intake of calories to less than 2100.Drop your weight to 150 pounds.Restrict the intake of salt to less than 6 gm /day.Have a baseline ecg and 2 dimensional echo to rule out organic heart disease.Coronary angiogram in indicated in your case to rule out the possibility of CAD.Consult your cardiologist for further help. Thank you.
