I have been having minor chest pains that come and go on the left side of my chest. I recently went to the hospital for a rapid heart beat and was prescribed metroprolol. Chest X-ray, echo, stress test and ekg all come back fine. What could it be? I also suffer from occasional pvcs.
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM. I can understand your situation and problem. Since you have VPCs (ventricular premature contraction), possibility of transient coronary spasm is high. And these spasm can cause chest pain. So in my opinion, you should consult cardiologist and get done 1. Clinical examination of cardiovascular system. 2. Coronary Angiography. 3. Lipid profile to rule out dyslipidemia. You may need antianginal drug. So better to consult cardiologist and discuss all these, start appropriate treatment.
