What Causes Intermittent Cramps In The Epigastric Area?
I get intermittent tight cramps in the right epigastric area. It is like a tightening of the muscles. It is unrelated to eating or exercise. It tightens for a few minutes, and then goes away. It comes sometimes several times a day, or then not for a week or two. It is always in the same area. Sometimes it is tight enough to take my breath away.

What Causes Intermittent Cramps In The Epigastric Area?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. You may be suffering from acute gastritis with GERD or bronchitis or muscle spasm etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Use tablet Pantoprazole. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
