What Causes Intermittent Dizziness And Numbness In The Hands And Feet?

I started with sudden onset of severe dizziness in june and lasted 2 months, now I have intermittent dizziness, numbness in my hands, feet, and tongue. sometimes I have leg spasms. I had an mri which showed lesions on my brain, cervical mri was neg for lesions. doctor tells me I am too old to get ms. about 10 years ago I have optic neuritis and my vision is getting poorer

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I would have liked to read the exact report of the MRI. In view of the prior visual symptoms, I think you might be having demyelinating. Multiple sclerosis rank high on the list of DD. I would recommend testing the Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) first before ruling out MS based on just age. Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder (NMOSD) is another possibility. But no spine lesions make it less likely.
