What Causes Intermittent High Fever And Left Side Pain In Children?
My daughter has had a fever all last week it ran a high of 103 degrees. One night this week she had a temp of 101 but it went away 3 hours later. This morning she woke up with a pain on the left side - She said on a scale of 1-10 it was a 7. She was very pale and she said it started hurting immediately when she got out of bed - She is 11 years old.
Fever of a few days without any localizing signs could as well a viral illness. Usually, rather than fever, what is more, important is the activity of the child, in between 2 fever episodes on the same day. If the kid is active and playing around when there is no fever, it is probably a viral illness and it doesn't require antibiotics at all. Once viral fever comes it will there for 4-7 days. So do not worry about duration if the kid is active.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
