What Causes Intermittent Pain Beneath The Ear?

I started having a pain below the ear last Saturday that has continued, half way between my shoulder and ear on my neck that could be a gland but there is no bulge. Hurts when I move a certain way. Also feel a bit drained. The pain is also not intense but a dull comes and goes. Any suggestions on what it might be?.

You might be pointing toward lymphadenitis which can cause neck pain. This could be due to viral flu/cold, which might have happened during the past weeks. This lymphadenitis is usually self limited and will get relieved after some days.
