What Causes Involuntarily Movements In The Eyelids While On Lipitor?
hi. My dad is 73 years old and has been on liptor at least 10 years. I recently noticed his one eye lid involuntarily closes and opens. Is this a side effect? Should I take him to the doc? Also, he is very forgetful which I know is a side effect. If he were to get on other meds for his high cholesteral, does his forgetfulness get better?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Statins do have many side effects, however it does not commonly cause abnormal movements, especially if it has been fro up to 10 years. Similarly, forgetfulness is not a known side effect of the drug, so I would suggest you should take him to a neurologist to assess hem in details for these symptoms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
